Gregg Thompson, the widely acclaimed drummer from Elko Nevada started at a young age of 7 years old beating on coffee and soup cans. When MTV starting airing he had the dream to play music professionally. His first influences were Alex Van Halen, Neil Peart, Stewart Copland, and Keith Moon, Randy Castillo and many more on MTV's head bangers ball. “Growing up in Elko, I remember going to extremes to find ways to listen to music. I would run speaker wire up the telephone poles to pick up radio stations from Salt Lake and shuffle through family records and tapes.” Gregg’s influences are many, but a few band favorites consist of Boston, Rush, Ozzy, Foo Fighters, Pop Evil, Scorpions, Iron Maiden, Nickelback, and Queensrych. Through the years Gregg has become one of Northeastern Nevada's well known drummers. He received the Lewis Armstrong award during high school from performing in matching, concert, pep, jazz, and honor bands. During his teenage years, he performed in Northeastern Nevada Casinos and shows filling in for circuit bands on the road that needed a drummer to fill in for many genres of music. His training drummer influences are, Tony rooster Jr., Tomas Lang, Dave Wreckel, Tony Carey, Dave Grohl, Simon Phillips, Dennis Chambers to name a few. Gregg also played in many local bands and original projects such as Rockcreation, Stormfront, 11th Hour, High Jacked, Ever Desolate - opening up for many events and big name acts in Elko such as Loverboy, Great White, Skid Row, Styx, Slaughter, Little Texas, and Restless Heart. Music is the beat of life, without it, life would be a mistake.
